Hatpins are long, sharp accessories that women once used to secure their large hats. In the early 1900s, women began to realize these pins also made excellent self-defense weapons against men on the street who got “too close for comfort.”
Instead of cracking down on the “mashers,” some communities attempted to outlaw the pins themselves. This historical comedy follows a local group of women who band together to get to the bottom of a recent string of crimes—using their weapon of choice: hatpins.
