Shane Thomas
Co-Founder & President
Shane has been a lifelong fan of community theater. Like many dreamers, he always imagined being involved someday; he just didn't expect that involvement would be as a Founder and President of the board.
The journey began when Shane floated a slightly wild "what if" idea to Denise. Together, they decided to see what would happen if they actually tried it. That idea grew into Williamson and Maury Performing Arts, a platform where performers, volunteers, and audiences, come together to support and enjoy theater in a welcoming,community-driven setting.
When he isnt focused on board meetings or production logistics, Shane enjoys getting out on the golf course. On days when he cant make it to the links, hes usually found wandering around the house, perfecting his swing with an invisible golf club.
Denise Landreth
Co-Founder & Vice PresidentÂ
Denise Co-Founded Williamson and Maury Performing Arts after identifying a need for adult acting opportunities in the Spring Hill and north Columbia area. She is a "recovering dance mom" who has transitioned into a leadership role within the arts. Alongside Shane, she works to ensure that local adults have a meaningful outlet to practice their craft and that the Spring Hill community can enjoy theater right in their own backyard.
When she isn't busy finding ways to fit more hours into a week than actually exist, Denise is an avid traveler and dedicated volunteer. As for "free time"- she is still convinced it's a myth that has yet to be proven.
Jennifer L Williams
Treasurer
Jennifer is a small business owner and has served as treasurer for Williamson and Maury Performing Arts since 2024. As a mom of three, she has spent years supporting her children-especially her two daughters-in theater, music, and the arts, and has seen first-hand the power of creativity and community
Jennifer loves theater for its ability to bring people together, tell powerful stories, and remind us that life is better with a little drama(the good kind).
Tessa Cullen
Secretary & Artistic DirectorÂ
Tessa's love of limelight began at a mere 3 years old when she was "slimed" on Nickelodeon. Peeking out through the curtain of green, she saw the audience laughing, and she was hooked.
Since then, Tessa has worked with countless local and regional theaters. She has also branched into commercial and film acting, but live stage remains her first love.
Tessa was recruited by Denise and Shane after being cast in two of their three inaugural season's shows. She's "flipping the script" to join the board and she hopes her experience on and off the stage will help to bring a fresh perspective to WMPA.
Theater for all, and all for the theater!
